Hereville: The Dead Tree Edition!

March 20th, 2008

“How Mirka Got Her Sword,” Front Cover

Hereville is available on paper!

Send me $20 and I’ll send you a copy of “Hereville: How Mirka Got Her Sword!” on paper. This comic is 57 pages long (not including covers, title page, and stuff like that) and in color. It’s printed on a pretty heavy stock — I get compliments about how nice the printing looks all the time — and is about six inches wide and nine inches high.

Why buy the comic? Can’t I just read it for free online?

Yes you can! This entire comic book is here at hereville.com, available to read.

Does this mean Hereville will end after 57 pages?

Definitely not! The current storyline is 57 pages long, and is a complete story with an ending. But that’s not the end of Hereville. There will be a Hereville graphic novel coming out from Abrams in 2010, which will feature about 30 pages of material that’s already been on the website but also nearly 100 pages of new or redrawn material. I plan to be creating new “Hereville” stories for years to come.

Can I get you to do a sketch in my copy?

If you pay $50 for your copy, I’ll also create an original, one-of-a-kind sketch on the title page for you. You can click here to see examples of what these drawings look like. Choosing this option will add several days to how long it takes me to mail your copy, obviously.

Whether or not you pay for a sketch, I’ll be happy to sign it to whomever you’d like.

How to donate.

You can donate through PayPal — click on the link in the sidebar to the right. After you’ve made a donation, this page will tell you what to do to get your thank-you gift.

Thanks!

    Go Barry!
FYI, the paypal link above doesn’t work, but the one to the right does.

  2. Barry Says:

Thanks for letting me know! I got rid of the one below.

It’d be cool if we could buy the printed copy now and the PDF was included, so we could read the whole thing now but get the printed copy when it’s ready.

(If you’d be up for this please email me, so I don’t have to remember to re-check this page, thanks!)

Is there any way I can ask my local comic store to order it for me? That way I get it and they get to know it exists and there is someone who will buy this kind of comic from them.

  5. Barry Says:

Emily, because this is an extremely small self-published run (first printing: 100 copies), it’s not affordable for me to go through stores and distributors. Maybe that’ll change sometime in the future.

Sorry to disappoint, but I hope you’ll consider buying it directly from me anyway. :-)

  6. Emily Says:

absolutely! I told the guy about it anyway and he seemed interested and said he’d check it out.

  7. Nella Says:

How much would it cost to get a paper copy shipped to the UK?

  8. Barry Says:

I think it costs about $2 American more to ship to the U.K.. I’m not sure how long it takes, though.
